Love One Another

“By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:35

Sometimes it is not what is said, but what is unsaid that is powerful.  Notice what is not said by Jesus.  The world will not know we are disciples by our knowledge.  We need to know what we believe, but knowledge is not the greatest mark of a disciple.  The world will not know we are disciples by our works.  We need to serve others and be engaged in ministry and missions, but that is not the greatest mark of a disciple either.

It is simple and yet complex and difficult.  We are to love one another.  Knowledge and works are things that can build us up, but true love is always about us giving ourselves to another.  As Jesus gave Himself to us, we are to give ourselves to others.

Pray: Pray and reflect on the great love Jesus has for you.  Pray you would be able to reflect that love by loving others in the manner Jesus has loved you.
