First Things First
“Now I would remind you,
brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you
stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I
preached to you- unless you believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that
Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried,
that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
There is no substitute for the Biblical preaching and teaching of salvation through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. In theological terms we call it “substitutionary atonement”, big words that emphasize Jesus had to die in our place for our sins in order for salvation to be extended to us. Salvation through Jesus only is of first importance and without it there is no salvation.
Pray: Pray for and understand of dependence solely upon Jesus and His sacrifice for our sin. Pray that the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ would be evident at Dublin Baptist Church.
