A New Heart

A

“And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them.  I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.” Ezekiel 11:19

The Tin Man wanted a new heart in the Wizard of Oz.  You and I need a new heart also.  As we move closer to the launch of a new modern worship service, we must have one heart.  We know how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has changed our lives.  May we have a passion for the Gospel to change the lives of others also.  As a church, we are to have one heartbeat, a heartbeat for Jesus to be exalted and others to know Him and grow in Him.  Don’t allow a heart of stone to hinder our worship.  Regardless of the style of worship, the heartbeat of God is for our hearts to be changed.

Pray: Pray for the worship service you will attend, that it will have a heartbeat to lift up Jesus.  Pray for the worship service you will not attend, that it will have the same heartbeat. Pray that together, in two worship styles, we will focus on one heartbeat for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

“I know very few young couples outside Dublin Baptist who attend church yet the idea of attending a church of our style is not appealing to them. In 1 Corinthians 9 Paul says, “I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I may save some”. I hope through this service we would be willing to embrace change in order to reach those that do not know Christ.” Joy Andereck
